Biography
I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, the first child out of three raised by a single mother in a country where political unrest was constant and the future always appeared bleak. My love for art sparked at a young age, crayons and coloring markers always passed the time for me when I wasn’t reading. My next-door neighbor was a seamstress and I loved scouring her remnants for fabrics to dress up my dolls. Then I was gifted a Barbie sewing machine for my 10th birthday. It wasn’t just a toy, I actually learned how to stitch from it. However, my love for fashion was cultivated much later when I attended High school in NYC.
Y2K was a great turning point in the early 2000s; Hip Hop and streetwear fashion exploded. After many detours in my life, I finally graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2015 and got my Bachelor’s in Fine Art with a concentration on women’s Sportswear.
Although I got my start in the industry in children’s apparel and assisted in mass production and licensing, my constant passion remains in women’s contemporary design. I drew inspiration from previous Designers like Calvin Klein, Yohji Yamamoto, and Haeder Ackerman. Along came an interest in architectural design and home decorating which are heavily reflected in my design patterns and structure.
